Book 1 cover for The Little Tree and the Great River by Aunty Apo
Book 1
The Little Tree and the Great River
Pip is a little tree growing happily by the Dirty Wara, a river that once sang with birds, fish, and children's laughter. But when gold seekers arrive, the river turns thick and silent, and Pip's world begins to fade. With the wisdom of the mother tree and the quiet strength of his roots, Pip holds on. Years later, a little girl plants a new tree beside him — and slowly, the river begins to sing again.
A story of resilience, renewal, and the quiet magic of nature's return.

The Adventures of Brobro and Ozzie: The Secret of the Whispering Hill
Ozzie is a big, lovable, slipper-obsessed dog. Brobro is the gangster cat with street cred — known on the streets as Baby Tiger, or Baby T for short. Together they sniff out secrets in the hills, and with help from their feathered informants Morieh, Ambai and Awi they navigate mouse villages, dodge trouble, and uncover a mystery that has been whispering through the treetops.
Loyalty, mischief and teamwork in the wild corners of Goroka.
Book 3 cover for Drop It Low: The Day the Town Went Wobble by Aunty Apo
Book 3
Drop It Low: The Day the Town Went Wobble
It started with a bus ride. One bold move, one unexpected groove — and suddenly the whole town was dropping it low. From the market to the mountains, the Wobble Dance took over. Inside the book readers will find the official Wobble badge, a Wobble certificate, and the Wobble Anthem to sing loud and proud. Because when the town moves together, it moves better.
Rhythm, respect and making space for each other.
Book 4 cover for The Day the Cigarettes Strike Back by Aunty Apo
Book 4
The Day the Cigarettes Strike Back
When Maloke sneaks into the cigarette factory, he meets Cam — the prototype cigarette — and uncovers a secret that changes everything. With a clever twist of science, Cam and Maloke join forces to alter the contents of the cigarettes in the steam room, replacing nicotine with nitrous oxide and turning smokers into gigglers and buses into smoke-free rides.
A witty adventure blending humour, courage and a love of science.
Book 5 cover for The Magical Sausage Growing Tree by Aunty Apo
Book 5
The Magical Sausage Growing Tree
In the heart of the forest stands a one-of-a-kind tree — it grows sausages! Brown when they hang, bright red when they are ready. Animals love them, people do too. But these are no ordinary sausages: they help eliminate fleas and parasites, and even heal failing organs in pets and animals. The problem? There is only one tree, and it is growing old. Join Kora and his animal friends as they try to protect its power before it is gone forever.
Kora and his animal friends race to save the last magical tree.
Book 6 cover for The Day Kera Turned into a Bee by Aunty Apo
Book 6
The Day Kera Turned into a Bee 🐝
Kera never liked her dad's bees — too loud, too buzzy, always chasing her when she ate jam sandwiches, so she stayed far away from the hives. But one afternoon curiosity got the better of her. As she crept closer, a sting changed everything. Dizzy and spinning, she collapsed… and woke up as a bee! Now, with the help of her new buzzing friends, Kera must discover what it means to live inside the hive — and why her dad loves his bees so much.
A bee-themed adventure — pairs with Kol Ples Honey.

Meet the author

Shirley Komogi — Aunty Apo

Shirley Komogi, known to readers as Aunty Apo, lives in Goroka — a misty town tucked in the highlands of Papua New Guinea. Her stories are stitched from real-life adventures.

When she’s not writing about slipper-obsessed dogs or street-smart cats, Aunty Apo is caring for her bees and producing her own honey under the brand Kol Ples Honey, making sure the buzz stays sweet and the sting stays poetic.
